NASHVILLE — MUSIC CITY

8 Days & 7 Nights
September 21 - 28, 2025

Introduction

Nashville, Tennessee, is the home of American country music and the birthplace of Bluegrass, with roots in Rhythm & Blues and now a thriving pop and rock music scene as well. Visitors from around the globe flock to this unique city year-round to listen to live music in the honky-tonks on and off Broadway and to explore the famous recording studios on Music Row. Mind’s Eye Travel’s Nashville guides will show us this city of storytellers and dreamers where music history is made—and treat us to down-home Southern cooking at its finest, too.

Please Call 207-542-4438 to check availability for this trip.

Itinerary

DAY 1, Sunday
September 21

Upon arrival at Nashville’s International Airport, you’ll grab an Uber or taxi to the Drury Plaza Hotel Downtown, our home base for the week. (If your sighted guide isn’t traveling with you, we will meet you at the airport.)

This evening we will walk to a club — Johnny Cash’s Bar & BBQ and Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk are just a few minutes away— for our Meet & Greet dinner and to dive into the music scene right away.

DAY 2, MONDAY
September 22

After breakfast, we’ll take another short walk to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the perfect starting point for our exploration of Nashville and the rich history and culture of country music. We’ll experience interactive exhibits and memorabilia from legendary artists and listen to live performances. Then we’ll board the Hop-on Hop-off Trolley for a narrated tour of Nashville with stops at more than a dozen attractions. This evening we’ll enjoy our hotel’s Kick Back light dinner.

Day 3, September 23
Tuesday

Did we mention that Nashville isn’t only music? Today we’ll step back in time to November 30, 1864, and the Battle of Franklin, one of the Civil War’s worst days for the Confederate States Army. On this tour, we’ll feel the bullet and cannonball holes as well as the battle-scarred floors that still bear witness to this dark time in our history. We’ll spend most of the day in the small city of Franklin exploring its historic sites, returning to Nashville for the Kick Back dinner at our hotel.

Day 4, September 24
Wednesday

Today starts slowly as we indulge in donuts, pastries and sweets at the Five Daughters Bakery and the Goo Goo Chocolate Company, and then relax with a free afternoon. We have to save our energy for the Grand Ole Opry this evening. Every show features country superstars, award-winning musicians and legendary songwriters who step into the famous wooden circle and put on unforgettable live performances. Right after the concert, we’ll go backstage for the ultimate insider’s tour. We’ll see the artists’ entrance and dressing rooms, step onto the stage and hear stories about the people who made the Grand Ole Opry an American legend.

day 5, September 25
Thursday

Today is set aside for whatever optional extra-cost activities you and your sighted guide may have booked in advance. These include an all-day visit to Memphis with a tour of the city and Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley (15 hours, $399), a distillery and brewery tour by golf cart (two hours, $60), a narrated Nashville “homes of the stars” bus tour with 30+ celebrity homes (two hours, $70) or a self-guided Ryman Auditorium tour with a souvenir photo onstage (one to two hours, $40).This evening we’ll again enjoy the Kick Back light dinner at our hotel.

day 6, September 26
Friday

Today is our all-day live music pub crawl—an entire day to enjoy Nashville’s unique music scene. On Broadway alone, there are (at last count) 32 honky-tonk bars to choose from. To help you select the ones you’d like to experience, here is an online list to click on, which can also be found at the bottom of this page, named 'Music Venues List'. Whatever you choose for later, we’ll start at one of the city’s most famous clubs, Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, and of course we don’t want to miss Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville. This evening we’ll regroup back at our hotel for the Kick Back light dinner again and swap stories of our unforgettable day.

day 7, September 27
Saturday

Nashville’s riverfront walk spans the Cumberland River on the John Seigenthaler Bridge, one of the world's longest pedestrian-only bridges. This will take us from Riverfront Park, on the west bank downtown, to Cumberland Park on the eastern shore. There we’ll board the General Jackson Showboat, one of the largest paddlewheel riverboats in the country, to cap our week with a musical performance while we enjoy a fine meal in the General Jackson’s beautiful Victorian dining room.

day 8, September 28
Sunday

This is departure day. Our minds full with all we’ve heard and experienced, we’ll check out of the Drury Plaza and transfer to the airport for our flights home.

Music Venues List

Music Venues List

Jane's Hideaway

What was once a staple in Printers Alley has found a new home in East Nashville, where upbeat performances centered around Americana, roots, or traditional bluegrass music kick off every night at 8 p.m. Matching the vibe of its new neighborhood, Jane’s Hideaway’s menu is eclectic, with original cocktails, French bubbly on tap, and dishes ranging from beet salad and okra fries to chicken pot pie, osso buco, and beef tenderloin. Visit on Tuesday nights to catch an Americana and roots songwriter showcase hosted by Grammy-winning artist Melody Walker. No tickets necessary.

Acme Feed & Seed

Acme Feed & Seed is a triple threat in a premier location capping Lower Broadway, with nightly live music, an expansive menu, and a rooftop overlooking incredible city views. The music spans genres as well as multiple levels of this historic late-1800s building, including a dedicated open-floor concert space, while the food and drink encompass everything from Nashville hot chicken to sushi to beers on tap to frozen cocktails. As a bonus, you don’t need tickets here.

The 12:30 Club

This joint venture between Justin Timberlake and restaurateur Sam Fox has become a destination for live music and opulent dining at the top of Lower Broadway. A chic supper club with thoughtful decor reminiscent of the Prohibition era, the Twelve Thirty Club features a stage at its center welcoming multiple sets per night. Share a chilled seafood tower and sip a classic cocktail while you listen to the tunes from the soulful house band. Reservations are encouraged for food service, but you can also grab a spot at the bar.

3rd & Lindsley

Skull’s Rainbow Room has been an acclaimed destination since 1948, set in a petite basement tucked inside Printers Alley. Some of the world’s most famous musicians have graced the small stage here, from Etta James to Paul McCartney to Elvis Presley to Johnny Cash. The landmark closed for over a decade before reopening in 2015, carrying on tradition with nightly live jazz performances paired with an elevated steakhouse menu and arguably the best cocktails in town. Be sure to make a reservation. You’ll also find burlesque performances for a cover charge every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, though you can’t make a reservation for

Rudy's Jazz Room

In a deviation from downtown’s predominantly country music venues, Rudy’s Jazz Room is all about the spirit and stylings of jazz. The traditional club was carefully designed with acoustics and ambience in mind, and the result is a detail-rich, sultry listening room with a swingin’ atmosphere. In addition to nightly live jazz performances, Rudy’s serves Prohibition-inspired signature and classic cocktails and cuisine with New Orleans flair, like red beans and rice, gumbo, beignets, and even a crawfish grilled cheese. You may need to pay a cover charge at the door.

The Electric Jane

A welcome newcomer to the scene, the Electric Jane is a swanky dining and entertainment club in the Gulch. Choose from clever cocktails, local beers, and a robust food menu featuring items like shrimp cocktail, raw oysters, roasted chicken, and tableside s’mores, then settle in to enjoy a performance ranging from rock to jazz. Reservations are encouraged.

The Bluebird Cafe

The Bluebird Cafe is as iconic as they come, an intimate venue in an unfussy strip mall in Green Hills that’s credited with launching the careers of Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks, Keith Urban, and many more. Emphasizing local songwriters, the Bluebird hosts two shows nightly, ranging from “In the Round” performances to open mic nights, with some local beers on draft and a solid cafe menu including crudites, a turkey club, and chicken tenders. Tickets and reservation requirements vary by show.

Fox & Locke

Leiper’s Fork is a rural town outside Nashville that many celebrities — including Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill — call home. Set inside a 1950s grocery store, Fox & Locke serves up live music and comfort food, with its Thursday open mic night often selling out weeks in advance. You never know who will grace the stage, as the event welcomes anyone from budding artists to Leiper’s Fork’s legendary residents. If your jaw hasn’t already dropped from the entertainment, the food will finish the job, with hearty Southern favorites like pulled pork, fried catfish, and pimento cheese. Tickets are required for most shows.
