ESCAPE TO PARADISE
OUTRIGGER FIJI BEACH RESORT

Bula! We will revel in five days and nights on the beach  in the heart of Fiji’s ‘Coral Coast,’ surrounded by lush tropical  gardens, coconut groves, white sand and bright blue while taking in Fijian culture and adventures;  with one sighted guide per person.
October 18-23, 2026

Introduction

Fiji, ‘where happiness comes naturally,’ is an archipelago of more than 300 islands in the South Pacific. Fiji is famous for its breathtaking landscapes, palm-lined beaches and coral reefs with clear lagoons. Most of the population lives on the two major islands, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu; the capital, Suva, on Viti Levu, is 12 hours by air from California and three hours from New Zealand.

Our all-inclusive Fiji adventure will link to our ‘Wonders Down Under’ tour of New Zealand, October 23 – November 1. For the New Zealand itinerary, please click here.

Itinerary

DAY 1, Sunday October 18, 2026 – Suva

Arrive at Nadi Airport in Suva, where we will await our sighted guides and then transfer by private van to our 5-star resort, just an hour and a half away. At the Outrigger, we’ll be met by the Bula Man singing traditional songs of welcome. After a refreshing drink we’ll settle in, unpack, take a walk on the beach or go for a sunset swim before dinner and a restful night’s sleep in this tropical paradise.

Days 2-7, 19-22 October – The Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort

Each morning, our first choice will be simply whether to relax in beachfront luxury or partake of all that the Outrigger has to offer—or (our recommendation) some of both. From enjoying local cuisine and hospitality in a traditional Fijian village to a snorkeling adventure or simply a massage at the spa, we’ll help you make the most of your ‘Escape to Paradise.’

Cultural activities include the Kava Ceremony, the traditional welcome for visitors to a Fijian village; Meke performances, which conjure up the legends, love stories, spirits and history of Fiji through song and dance; firewalking, a spiritual ritual that goes back more than 500 years; and of course story-telling, that rich indigenous form of entertainment, and local artforms such as weaving, an intricate skill that takes years to master.

Naturally, there’s also swimming and snorkeling, paddleboarding, beach volleyball, visiting the Outrigger’s coral-planting program, created to help preserve the marine life of our tropical seas, or simply unwinding by the pool or at the beach.

Our daily meals Include the breakfast buffet at Kana or breakfast a la carte at the Vahavu Restaurant; lunch (any two courses) at the Baravi, Sundowner or Vahavu Restaurants; and the buffet dinner, also at Kana, or any two courses at the Sundowner, Baravi or Ivi Restaurants or any three tapas plates at the Kalo Kalo Lounge.

The Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort details
  • The Sundowner Bar & Grill is the place to sip bubbly and soak up the stunning view of the Coral Coast. The menu features the finest Australian grain- and grass-fed beef, including Cape Grim, Wagyu and Black Angus with a dry-aged selection, each cut grilled to perfection alongside a tempting selection of starters and sides and finished with a delicious selection of desserts.

  • The poolside Baravi Restaurant will take you on a culinary journey through India, Thailand, Singapore and China with trusted favorites as well as contemporary Asian dishes.

  • Award-winning Ivi Restaurant, in a traditional Fijian thatched-roof cabin, serves the best in seafood fresh from the Pacific. (There are also dishes for those don’t care for fish, as well as vegetarians and those with dietary conditions.) The restaurant’s namesake is the century-old Ivi tree alongside.

  • Perched high on Lomalagi (Heavenly) Hill, the Kalo Kalo Lounge takes its name from the Fijian word for stars—and on a stunning Pacific night you’ll feel as though you could reach out and touch them. Diners enjoy contemporary cocktails with a tapas menu and champagne at sunset as well as sensational ocean views and elegant service.

  • The Kana Buffet offers flavors from around the world each night with a range of themed buffets and succulent local seafood feasts plus a dance show. It’s a nightly gastronomical adventure.

  • The Reef Cocktail & Lounge Bar is the place to gather for drinks and tapas before dinner; and after dinner, specialty cocktails flow and live music fills the lounge with infectious beats. The dress code is smart casual; an extra fee may apply.

  • The Vahavu Bistro is a unique adults-only swim-up poolside bar that also offers breakfast a la carte and a lunch menu with service to sunbathers.

  • And finally, in the main lobby Takia On the Go offers takeaway sandwiches, focaccia, pastries and aromatic coffees; enjoy coastal views whilst getting a snack on the run. (An extra fee applies here also.)

Optional activities

Fiji Cultural Day – on Likuri Island ($220, your guide included), which starts at 9:30 on Tuesday or Thursday with a 30-minute river cruise followed by a spirited welcome by the Outrigger’s Robinson Crusoe team. On the Island we can go snorkeling or take cooking or weaving lessons, take in a fire-walking demonstration and a Fijian dance show, a jungle walk, coconut tasting (and palm-tree climbing) and a crab race. Or simply enjoy the day at a more relaxing pace with a massage or swim in the lagoon. Lunch and drinks are included.

Sigatoka River Safari – also available on Tuesday or Thursday, morning or afternoon ($300, your guide included), this is a half-day eco/cultural adventure aboard the resort’s jetboats. We’ll cruise up the magnificent Sigatoka River to visit authentic Fijian villages and experience a day in the life of the real 'kaiviti,' the native people. Out of respect, guests must cover their shoulders and knees while in the village (ladies will receive a complimentary sarong to wear over their shorts/trousers); and please remove hats and sunglasses before entering the Chief's House or community hall for the welcome ceremony.

EcoTrax Bike Riding – with a local guide along the old sugarcane railway on velocipedes, electric bicycle carriages. Let the rails carry you along through magical scenery including river crossings, mangroves, rain forest, open coastline and villages. Deserted beaches stretch for miles as you traverse untouched tracts of the Coral Coast. Pedal or simply use the electric motor to cruise along! Our destination is a beautiful unspoiled beach where we’ll enjoy a swim, snorkel, some light refreshments and relaxing on our inflatable couches. ($220, your sighted guide included; transportation must be added also. This is available each afternoon, but numbers are limited, so please book ASAP!)
