Discover the Coast of Maine
Five days and four nights, September 10 - 14, 2008
Prices start at $995* per person (double occupancy)
Included: Deluxe accommodations in the heart of Camden for four nights, full breakfast each morning, dinners for three nights and all activities as outlined.
The next morning we will board a lobster boat in Camden Harbor to gain some insight into the life of a lobsterman. As our captain hauls a trap or two, he'll teach us about lobstering, how the traps work, lobster ecology and their life cycle. We'll motor to the Penobscot Bay islands, where we'll hear seals and nesting sea birds, including ospreys and bald eagles.
Penobscot Bay also offers some of Americaâ's best sailing, which we will experience aboard one of Camden's famous windjammer fleet. We'll motor out of the snug harbor to Curtis Island, raise the sails and reach out into the bay to enjoy the sounds, smells and sensations of the sea.
On another day our hired coach will take us to Boothbay Harbor for a day-long excursion on a whale watch. Our knowledgeable captain and crew will share information about finback, humpback and minkie whales on their annual migration to the North Atlantic. Each of these vessels has easy access and will provide us with assistance on and off.
Midcoast Maine is home to many well-known artists and craftsmen, and the Harbor Square Gallery has arranged a private hands-on tour for us that will let us appreciate by touch it's wide selection of artwork, including sculpture, jewelry, furniture and vessels.
And one evening we'll be the guests of The Cellar Door Winery, a unique local vineyard where we"ll taste a variety of reds, whites and dessert wines.

Sedona and the Grand Canyon
Six days and five nights, October 8 - 13, 2008 (Trip ends on Columbus Day)
Prices start at $1,195* per person (double occupancy)
Included: AAA rated 4-Diamond accommodations for five nights, full breakfast each morning, dinners for three nights and all activities as outlined.
On our first evening we'll get together for a "Meet and Greet" dinner at one of Sedona's finest restaurants. We'll get to know one another while enjoying local cuisine.
The first morning we'll take a guided Jeep tour to soak up the sun and smells of the Southwest. (In our mind's eye, we envision rugged cowboys making their way across the unforgiving desert to the next roundup.)
Our coach and guides will take us for a day excursion to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. We'll find out why this is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Our first stop will be the village of El Tovar, where we will have lunch in the historic lodge at the rim of the canyon. On the way back to Sedona we stop at the famous Cameron Trading Post on the Navajo Reservation, famous for it's collection of Native American jewelry, Pueblo pottery, Indian baskets, Hopi Kachinas, and Navajo rugs. Their manager will escort us to the gallery and tell us about the art of creating pottery and the skill and materials used in Navajo rugs.
A short day trip to the old mining town of Jerome will include a walking tour, shopping or exploring and free time for lunch. Sedona is home to many talented artists. One of the local galleries will give us a personal tour that will let us appreciate by touch its wide selection of artwork.
On our final evening together, we'll break bread at another of Sedona's finest gourmet restaurants.
Please note that this itinerary has been planned to provide a nice balance between organized group activity and personal rest and relaxation. Optional activities such as hot-air balloon rides, spa treatments, guided hikes and trail rides on a real working ranch are available and can be added according to your taste and budget.
